We’d like to share some exciting news…
Over the last term, you may have noticed that Mrs Boon and her amazing team in the EYFS have been working hard towards achieving accreditation in the Lancashire Quality Mark in EYFS for Outstanding Outdoor Provision – Step Outside.
The programme aims to raise standards and secure outstanding practice in the early years and improve outcomes for all children with particular reference to outdoor provision. It helps to develop a climate which fosters healthy attitudes to learning and build effective teaching strategies to ensure children develop autonomy in the outdoor environment.
We had our assessment in school this afternoon and are thrilled to tell you that we have been awarded the highest standard with the assessor using words like: Irresistible learning opportunities, adventure, risk, inclusion and community. She was very impressed and said she saw some of the best examples of outdoor learning she’d ever seen! She was very impressed with the way that the community had pulled together during our gardening day!
We are so thrilled to have been recognised for our Outstanding provision and I wanted to say a huge well done to Mrs Boon, Mrs Jones and Miss Bowker for all their hard work!
Finally, thank you to our wonderful community for helping us achieve this…the fundraising, the time given and the general positivity from you all truly means so much!
