Maths
In Maths we have been continuing our learning about 3D and 2D shape. We’ve been learning the properties of shapes such as vertices, edges and faces.
English
We have finished our Aladdin topic and Class 2 have loved it! I’m so proud of how they have immersed themselves in the story and enjoyed it so much. In English this week, we have been writing our non-chronological report about farm animals! We’ve wrote about pigs, cows and sheep and have been focusing on spellings and the grammar aspect: commas in a list.
Observational Artwork
Class 2 have been exploring observational drawing outdoors. We discussed perspective and how important it is when drawing landscapes. We also talked about what to consider when looking beyond the objects right in front of us. Everyone got really stuck in and created some beautiful pencil drawings.
Art Week
This week is Art Week and we have been exploring batik artwork. We had a special visitor to come and show us how to use the batik and we based our artwork on Aladdin’s magical carpet. We loved creating the patterns!
Geography
In Geography, we have been exploring human features. We organised human and physical features into categories and discussed what makes human features. Next half term we will be focusing on physical features.
SATs Party!
We have worked so hard to complete our SATs so we had a SATs party on Friday! We had lots of fun! We enjoyed playing games and eating party food! Thank you for your food donations.
Fun in the Sun!
We have been enjoying the sunshine in Year 2! We went outside for a story and had a talent competition to end off our day. It’s lovely to be able to enjoy our school grounds.
