Our theme is Australia so we have been focusing on an Australia themed story book called Possum Magic. We received a special delivery containing lots of props from the story, which helped us predict what happens. We have been focusing on this text for the past few weeks, including creating a diary entry from the characters, hot seating, and answering lots of comprehension questions. We are currently innovating the story, so we can use this to write our own Australian tale.
Science
In Science, we have been exploring animals and have been playing lots of games, looking at food chains and offspring. We are fascinated by this topic as we love learning about animals!
We remembered our lovely Queen by discussing creating a beautiful masterpiece using her portrait, on the theme of pop art.
Maths
In Maths we are thinking about measuring. We loved measuring items outside!
We celebrated reaching the first line in our marble jar by having a wonderful toy afternoon! Well done Year 2!
