This week, Year 4 had a fantastic Archery taster session with Sam from Sports Cool. Many have now signed up for the after school club!
On Thursday, it was WORLD BOOK DAY. In their fantastic costumes and pyjamas, the children joined the BBC live lesson at 11am, opened Mrs Green’s mystery story parcel, completed activities around their favourite books, competed against each other in a book quiz, listened to a live read of, ‘Six dots’ by Jen Bryant and enjoyed a reading café with a book of their choice. Our class love reading for pleasure and often have their heads buried in a book throughout the day!
As part of our new theme, A Passport to Europe, the children started their Design and Technology unit: Textiles – 3d product from 2d pieces. The children will be developing their sewing skills and will be designing and making a 3d bookmark and characters from Gulliver’s Travels. This week, Year 4 started by designing their bookmarks as a planning template.
This half term’s Geography focus is around a region in a European country. We kickstarted our unit by studying the location of the 7 continents, identifying Europe and learnt the 10 countries within Northern Europe.
