Maths
This half term, we have been learning how to add and subtract two-digit numbers with exchanging! We have also been focusing on telling the time to half past, o’clock, quarter to and quarter past. We have recently been learning multiplication and division, which we will carry over into the summer term. We will be preparing for SATs after Easter and practising lots of reasoning and problem solving skills.
English
We wrote some fantastic non-fiction reports about Neil Armstrong and Tim Peake! The class’ writing has really impressed me recently, they are trying so hard and applying all the skills we are learning in English, grammar and phonics to their writing. Well done Year 2!
Art
We’ve loved our Space topic and learning all about Tim Peake and Neil Armstrong. We finished our Space artwork for our display!
Visitors
We had a special visit from the fire brigade who talked to us about fire safety. We discussed the importance of fire alarms and what to do in a fire; including duck, cover and roll and how to crawl out of your house.

Thank you to everyone who came to parents evening last Monday! It was so lovely to have a proper chat and discuss your child. I just want to thank you all for being such a great bunch of parents. It really makes such a huge difference when you do work at home and you’re all so supportive. So a huge thank you from me!

On our last day of the Spring term, we celebrated Easter by having an Easter Egg Hunt around the school grounds! We had lots of fun!
