Coates Lane Primary School is an amazing school, where everyone who works here has a passion for ensuring that all children learn in a nurturing, safe and fun environment.  We are so lucky to be situated where we are in such beautiful surroundings, and we make the most of the environment that we have.  Our Forest School activities and outdoor learning allow our children to  learn in a cross curricular way whilst embracing the outdoors.  We are so lucky to have our forest area, field, outdoor classrooms and playground which has numerous games and an amazing clamber stack.

I know that this is a really important stage in the journey for your family, and I would like to reassure you that your child will receive a transition to Coates Lane which ensures you both feel happy and confident about joining us in September.  We have open days where you are welcome to come and have a look around our amazing school, however, if you are unable to make one of these, please contact the school office on 01282 812203 or email bursar@coateslane.lancs.sch.uk where we can make an appointment for you to come and have a look at us.  You can experience school life and our ethos first hand.

Our amazing Reception class of 2024 are now all thriving in school, and we look forward to your child being in our Reception 2026 class.

There is a lot of information on our website for you to have a look at and we also have a very active Facebook page which we would encourage you to have a look at, we upload photo's and share information every day showing the amazing things our children do in school.  This gives you a real snapshot of what life is like at Coates Lane and the diverse learning that takes place here.

Applying for a Place

Please note that applications for pupils to start school in September 2026 close on 15th January 2026. If you have missed this deadline please follow the link above as further support, information and guidance can be provided by the local authority.  Or you can contact Mrs Francis our School Business Manager who will be more than happy to help you.

In Year Admissions

If you have moved to the area or are  moving to the area, or you are simply looking at a new school for your child, we welcome enquiries.  Please contact Mrs Francis our School Business Manager to arrange a visit to look around our amazing school.  Mrs Francis will guide you through the in-year admissions process which is handled by Lancashire County Council's Pupil Access Team.  To apply for a place please visit:
